    Magnet theme /Overview
    At College Park all students receive a differentiated, academically enriched and challenging education. The students are taught the rigorous, standards-based curriculum in the English

    program. For the school year 2009-2010, students in grades K-2 receive content-based, thematic Mandarin Immersion instruction. In the following years, we plan to add an additional grade level. By 2012, Mandarin immersion will be a part of every K-5 student's day.

    The mission of College Park is to educate rigorously, reflect our community, reduce racial isolation, and rejoice in diversity by:

    Staff participates in on-going professional development that capitalizes on the rich diversity of our community and strong connection between families and school.


    Core Curriculum
    College Park is committed to excellence and instilling a desire for lifelong learning in parents, teachers and children. The curriculum and instructional practices are aligned with state and national recommendations for quality schools and with the District's Standards of Excellence. All practices are enhanced by the Magnet theme. Students will experience a rigorous, differentiated, standards-based core academic program in English and participate in content-based, thematic Mandarin Immersion program.
